How2Media Announces That Flow International Corporation Will Be Part of Its “World's Greatest!…” Series

KENT, WA—(Marketwired – June 09, 2016) – Flow International Corporation, the world's leading developer and manufacturer of ultrahigh–pressure waterjet machines for cutting applications, and How2Media, the producers of the television show “World's Greatest!…”, announced today that they have recently selected Flow International Corporation to be a part of the popular television series.

“Flow International Corporation was founded in 1974 and is the world's leading provider of waterjet systems. Flow provides turnkey solutions, components, and comprehensive support of both the pure waterjet and abrasive waterjet variety across its globally diverse customer base. Pure waterjets cut food, gasket, foam, plastic, paper, disposable diapers, automotive interiors and other soft materials. In the 1980's Flow invented the abrasive waterjet, thereby increasing the cutting power of the pure waterjet thousands of times, to help manufacturers cut any hard material, such as metals, glass, composites, ceramics and stone — even over 1 foot thick. We think their story will be meaningful as well as extremely educational to our viewers,” said Gordon Freeman, Executive Producer of the show.

As part of the show, How2Media sent a film crew to spend time at the company's manufacturing facilities and corporate headquarters in Kent, Washington, just outside Seattle, to find out what the story behind the story is with this great and dynamic company, and to show the “World's Greatest!…” viewers why Flow International was selected as the best in its category, and therefore featured on the show.

“World's Greatest!…” is a thirty minute show dedicated to highlighting the world's greatest companies, products, places, and people. Each show is a fast paced tour around the world featuring behind the scenes footage, informative interviews, and exciting visuals.

The “World's Greatest!…” episode 229 will be airing on DirecTV channel 305 as well as Dish Network channel 250. To find the episode with your cable channel provider, please visit http://worldsgreatesttelevision.com/tv_schedule/ and follow the prompts.

Asia Society Awards Best Companies for Asian Pacific Americans

NEW YORK, NY—(Marketwired – June 09, 2016) – Asia Society announced tonight the winners of the 2016 Best Asian Pacific American Employer Awards at the annual Diversity Leadership Forum in New York. Now in their eighth year, the awards honor employers at the forefront of promoting and developing Asian Pacific American (APA) talent.

Awardees are selected based on the quality of their APA workforce initiatives and the results from the Asia Society's 2016 Asian Pacific Americans Corporate Survey, the only published initiative to exclusively measure the leadership success of APAs at Fortune 500–level companies. Over 3,300 APA employees participated in the 2016 survey, a 30% increase from 2015.

IBM took home the top honors. “IBM is proud to be recognized by the Asia Society as the 'Best Employer for Asian Pacific Americans,'” said Jon Iwata, senior vice president, marketing and communications. “IBM has a long history of supporting diversity and inclusion — a commitment that we continue to broaden and deepen. It is a distinguishing feature of our corporate character.”

AT&T won “Best Employer for Promoting APA Women,” a new category that acknowledges the critical importance of supporting women's access to leadership positions. “We are honored that Asia Society has recognized AT&T for promoting women,” said Cynt Marshall, AT&T Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer – Human Resources. “We proactively support the success and advancement of women across the company. Our commitment to having a diverse talent pipeline starts at the top and we ensure that women and all participants in our development programs receive the education, experience and exposure they need to learn and grow outside the classroom.”

In the category for “Promoting APAs into Senior Leadership Positions,” Freddie Mac came out on top. “Freddie Mac is honored to be recognized by the Asia Society for our commitment to promote diversity in our senior leadership ranks,” said Dwight Robinson, Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer at Freddie Mac. “Because of the priority we place on developing and supporting the success of our diverse talent, Asian Pacific Americans have strong and growing representation in senior leadership positions across the company.”

Other Best Employer winners included Discover for “APA Employee Resource Groups,” General Electric for “Sponsorship,” KPMG for “Developing Workforce Skills,” and Pacific Gas & Electric for “Marketing & Support to the APA Community.”

“Asian Pacific Americans have contributed immensely to the success of U.S. businesses. Recognizing and developing these employees is not only the right thing to do, but it is also a prerequisite for attracting and retaining top talent,” said David Whitelaw Reid, Executive Director for Global Talent Initiatives at Asia Society. “We congratulate all the winning companies and urge other employers to follow their lead.”

Finalists and winners are chosen based on a combination of employee survey results (80 percent) and scores from a blind panel of expert judges (20 percent). Employees of Asia Society are not involved in the awards decisions. For more information about the awards, visit Asia Society's Global Talent Initiatives website. This press release is also available in Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese.
