Production Print Solutions From Konica Minolta and Kodak Highlighted at Graph Expo 2016 Exhibit

ORLANDO, FL—(Marketwired – September 25, 2016) – Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) and Kodak have joined together at Graph Expo '16 to showcase exciting new industry–leading solutions for the digital production print market.

The AccurioPRESS C2070 will be exhibited as a technology preview with the new CREO™ IC–314 Color Server; the bizhub PRO 1100 will be shown with the CREO™ IC–309m Digital Front End — a powerful, flexible, and complementary external controller solution for Konica Minolta's monochrome presses; and the bizhub PRESS C71hc will be driven by a CREO™ IC–309 Color Server, the ideal solution for the extended color gamut of the C71hc.

All three Creo controllers share a core architecture with digital front ends designed for high–speed web presses to deliver significant file processing horsepower to cut sheet devices. The IC–314 is the latest implementation of the Creo Color Server platform. With blazing processing speeds, variable data printing capabilities, transactional printing through native IPDS IS/3 solution and built–in connectivity to 3rd party applications, the user will experience unprecedented RIP performance, color consistency, and short turnaround times all which are vital for production print environments. With all these capabilities the IC–314 streamlines operations, boosts quality levels and raises profitability.

The IC–309m CREO controllers drives all of Konica Minolta's monochrome presses including the bizhub PRO 1100, providing a common workflow and user interface for customers with both color and monochrome printing requirements. Konica Minolta can now offer their monochrome customers a powerful controller that can process full variable data at rated speed, has an option for IPDS support and advanced feature set that is found mainly in color controllers

Konica Minolta's extensive portfolio of Creo Color Servers and digital print controllers offer customers superb out–of–box color and image quality combined with unsurpassed job management features and functionality designed specifically to meet the demanding requirements of today's commercial printers. All Creo controllers integrate seamlessly with Prinergy — the industry–leading workflow solution for both offset and digital print technologies, providing end–users with the ability to fully maximize productivity in a hybrid environment.

“This is a great value integration with our core products and is a move forward in our own transformation,” said Dino Pagliarello, vice president, Product Management and Planning, Konica Minolta. “We continue to view our ongoing partnership as a commitment to shaping the future of profit, productivity, and sustainability.”

“The latest products in our CREO Servers portfolio for Konica Minolta establish the importance of our ongoing collaboration and commitment to our mutual customers and the print industry,” says Ari Shapiro, World Wide Sales director for Creo Servers. “The connectivity between Kodak Creo controllers and Konica Minolta digital presses is ideal for our customers' very diverse production environments — light or full, mono or color, static or variable production.”

(Konica Minolta), a leader in the graphic communications industry, will be exhibiting a range of expanded technology offerings and forward–thinking solutions in the fields of industrial/decorative print, commercial printing, labeling/packaging, and prototyping/short run manufacturing at booth #1801 during Graph Expo. The conference will be held from Sept 25–28, 2016 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The line–up of exciting new products and services are designed to provide new productivity levels, help clients grow revenues and contain costs.

Among some of the featured highlights, designed to enhance the way that companies achieve their strategic objectives, are the following:

  • AccurioPRESS C2070 – premiering in the U.S. under the company's new line of production and industrial products, Accurio, the latest toner–based digital PRESS C2070 is a full color product that prints on paper and envelopes. This is the next generation of the bizhub PRESS C1070 series in the Accurio line which supports media up to 350 gsm, has a 3,000–sheet high capacity stacker, and comes with semi–automated front–to–back registration and skew correction. The PRESS has already been certified with Plockmatic finishing solutions, which are also compatible with the bizhub PRESS C1100 and 1250 series, ultimately streamlining workflow to expand print services.
  • bizhub™ PRESS C71cf – the latest continuous feed, toner–based, easy–to–operate digital label printer of its kind. Printing at speeds up to 62'/min on rolls 13″ wide and leveraging proven Konica Minolta's HDe dry toner technology, this press provides 1200×1200 dpi resolution with push button ease. The bizhub PRESS C71cf is the perfect fit for businesses looking at a low–risk first entry into digital label production, or as an efficient short–run solution to an existing digital print operation.

Additional MGI family of products exhibited include:

  • MGI JETvarnish 3DS small format sheet system – the varnish formula in combination with the Konica Minolta print heads has the ability to create a 3D effect on laminated surfaces or on toner directly. The variable data option adds full personalization capabilities for a maximum one–to–one marketing impact. The digitalization of the spot UV finishing can take a few sheets from each job and spot UV coat it, producing sellable proofs so clients can see, touch and feel the effect that their jobs could have.
